On December 4th, 2019, Groupe ADP gathered CDG’s cargo community during its annual forum. This forum was an opportunity to highlight the cargo projects carried out by ADP and the players of the sector in order to put into perspective the future growth levers of cargo activity.
After an introduction by Marc Houalla, Director of Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport, Edouard Mathieu, Director of Development and Relations Customers and Companies, presented the Group’s cargo activities and the actions carried out by ADP to strengthen the attractiveness of the platform and exploit its many assets: development of traffic with the future Terminal 4, presence of a catchment area of 25 million consumers in a radius of 200 km around the airport and the dynamism of the cargo community thanks to initiatives such as ACFA. He also pointed out the importance of future projects such as the commissioning of the animal station for animals with uncertain health status, the pursuit of the CEIV Fresh certification process and the launch of an opportunity study for a Perishable center on CDG (both carried by ACFA).
Adrian Radelet, head of real estate development, completed this presentation by mentioning the Group’s ambition to allow cargo players to « project themselves permanently into the Cargo City of tomorrow ». To accomplish this, he wants to increase the operational capacity of freight operators with the construction of 4 cargo stations (Midi, Mono, SC4 and Dahlia) connected directly to the air tracks.
However, Groupe ADP’s main objective for 2020 remains the collective and daily reinforcement of Paris-CDG’s visibility in Asia.
Complementing Edouard Mathieu’s comments on thermo-sensitive products, WFS, France Cargo Handling and IATA stressed the importance of quality processing for perishable products.
This qualitative issue is essential for Groupe ADP, which is aiming to repatriate these flows of goods to Paris-Charles de Gaulle. Indeed, perishable products are the type of goods that benefits from the highest growth dynamics and represents the largest proportion of products carried by air cargo.
